Every tour has an opening night. Theirs was June 8th, 793, on a Northumbrian tidal island — the raid on the monastery at Lindisfarne, the strike that opened the Viking Age and put the North on notice.

Five raiders cross the shallows in step: the horn-blower calling the line, the shield-bearer, the axe, the blades. Reflected in the wet sand they left behind, they walk in off the water the way the longships actually came — with the tide, out of nowhere, gone before the alarm was raised.

The date on the setlist isn't a metaphor. Lindisfarne was the first stop on a tour that ran three centuries and crossed four seas — Dublin, Jórvík, Normandy, the rivers into Garðaríki, and the long water west. This is stop one.

On the back, the full tour — 38 dates across three centuries — under a line of Óðinn's own words in Younger Futhark.

A Length

Place the end of a measuring tape beside the collar at the top of the garment (high point shoulder). Pull the tape to the bottom of the item.

B Width

Place the end of a measuring tape at one side of the chest area and pull the tape across to the other side of the product.

C Sleeve length

Place the end of a measuring tape at the center back of the collar, then pull the tape along the top seam of the sleeve. When you get to the shoulder hold the tape in place at the shoulder and continue to pull down the sleeve until you reach the hem of the sleeve.
